About this photo

While out walking with my partner on a warm day, this squirrel decided to stop and see what we were all about. Instead of running away, it became increasingly curious and slowly edged closer to us.

I lowered myself to the ground with the camera and waited. Thankfully, the squirrel was feeling brave enough to continue its investigation, allowing me to capture this photograph. It’s moments like these that I enjoy most in wildlife photography, when an animal’s natural curiosity creates a brief connection and a photograph that feels a little more personal.
