While walking through the woodland, this small flower immediately stood out against the darker background behind it. The bright pink petals and soft light gave it an almost glowing appearance amongst the surrounding greenery.
I wanted to isolate the flower from the background to make it feel delicate and calm, while still keeping some of the atmosphere of the woodland around it. Looking at the image now, I like how such a small and easily missed part of nature became the centre of attention simply by slowing down and noticing it.
