There's something quite direct about this one, the great tit facing square into the lens with its beak just slightly open, as if caught mid-call. The black cap and bib frame that bright white cheek so cleanly, and the yellow underparts hold their own against all that soft green behind. It's a simple perch on a bare twig, but the bird's grip and posture give it a sense of alertness that carries the whole image.
What made it worth taking was the light falling gently across the head and chest while the background fell away into a shallow, blurred wash of foliage. That separation does the work, letting the colour and shape of the bird sit forward without any distraction. Nothing dramatic here, just a small woodland moment held still for a second.
